My Thoughts...
http://caret.iste.org/caretadmin/news_documents/StudentLearning.pdf
I found this one pdf file while roaming through the net and hope that it will be useful. Sorry for not using the link that prof. posted before. it's just that i feel that it will be more fun and challenging ( hehe... don't know if it's right ^__^) if i do another one but still related to the question that you posted.
hmm... enough rambling. Now lets move on to the main issue.
This particular page are related to International Society for Technology in Education, society that is known better for those in US and Canada. However, this article is particularly good in a sense that it covers the issue of the influence of technology to students learning. furthermore, the subject of the paper range from the teacher as the facilitator to the students as the learner.
To be more specified, it explain more of the use of current technology, which we know as the computer with help from various software that were designed to test the students in their respective fields.
regarding to the questions that we should think about,
1. How technology is going to affect how your students are going to be learning?
Technology for me served as an alternative to the traditional methods of teaching using pen and paper. it is needed for us to keep in pace with the changes that evolve around us. Furthermore, it enables the learning lesson to be more interesting and effective as students interest can be stimulated further with the use of technology.
Students do find it's enjoyable dealing with technology in learning. With the right guidance from the teacher, students performance can be exploited to the maximum and it can ensure their understanding of the particular lesson which had been taught by the teacher.
However, do not left out the most important thing. Any technology should be tested for it's after effect. Teacher particularly should see on how the usage will influence achievement and academic performance of the students. beside that, he/she can determine whether the choice of technology used is suitable and appropriate.
2. How you as a teacher will be learning?
Technology particularly computer and internet can provide teachers with a wide range of choice of material to be used in teaching. They can learn to improve themselves with technology and at the same time move up to a higher level in their teaching practice through interaction with peers online.
I think that's all. Do comment if u disagree with me. After all, it's still my thought and opinion...
